Derek Sanderson Jeter was born on June, 1974 in Pequannock, New Jersey, who is specialized baseball player. He has played his whole career for the Yankees as a shortstop. He made his debut on May 29, 1995 in Major League Baseball for the New York Yankees. He is captaining the New York Yankees side since the year 2003. He is a very strong and powerful hitter, whose presence gives strength to the New York Yankees team.

He played extraordinarily when New York Yankees team dominated several leagues in the late 1990s.

He won the Rookie of the Year Award in the year 1996 and helped New York Yankees to win the World Series in same year. In the year 2000, Derek Jeter turned the only player in the history of baseball to win both the All-Star Game MVP Award and World Series MVP Award in the same year.

Eleven times he has been selected in All-Star Team and on four occasions he has won the Silver Slugger and Gold Glove awards. He is popularly known as a complete professional of the game amongst teammates and oppositions alike, and also has a status as a consistent performer in the postseason.

Derek Jeter is regarded as one of the best players of his generation. He ranks fifth among energetic players due to his .317 batting average during the year 2009 season and is the all-time leader in hits among shortstops. He has been a leader in runs and hits scored for the last 10 years in an American League.
