Willie Mays is a former American baseball center fielder, who mostly played with New York and San Francisco Giants and ended his career with the New York Mets. In the year 1979, Willie Mays was chosen to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Most of the surveys and research suggests that Willie Mays is the greatest all round player of all time.

He made his MLB debut on May 25, 1951 for the New York Giants and played his last game in the year 1973 for the New York Mets. Willie Mays won Most Valuable Player award two times and level on records with 24 appearances in All-Star Game. He Scored 600 home runs in his whole career and was on third position at the time of his retirement, and presently fourth of all-time. The Sporting News placed Willie Mays on second position in their list of 100 Greatest Baseball Players in the year 1999, which made him the maximum ranked existing player. Later on in that year he was selected to the MLB All-Century Team. Willie Mays hit a home run in every inning from the first through the sixteenth and is only MLB player to do this. Willie Mays ended his career with twenty two extra inning home runs. Willie Mays is one of five National League players to have 8 consecutive 100 runs batted in seasons, along with Chipper Jones, Albert Pujols, Sammy Sosa and Mel Ott. In the year 1955 and 1956 Willie Mays hit more than 50 home runs. This time period represents highest stretch between 50 plus home run seasons for any player in Major League Baseball history.
