Pete Rose

Pete RosePete Rose was born on April 14, 1941 and is a former Major League Baseball player and manager. Pete Rose made his Major League Baseball Debut on April 8, 1963 for the Cincinnati Reds and played his last game on August 17, 1986 for the Cincinnati Reds. Pete Rose is the all-time Major League leader in hits (4,256), at-bats (14,053), games played (3,562) and outs (10,328).

He won three batting titles, one Rookie of the Year Award, three World Series rings, two Gold Gloves, one Most Valuable Player Award, and made seventeen All-Star appearances at 5 diverse places (LF, RF, 3B, 2LB and 1B).

In the year 1989, 3 years after he retired as an energetic player, Pete Rose decided to permanently discontinue from baseball amidst claims that he gambled on baseball games while playing and managing the Cincinnati Reds, including claims that he bet on his own team. In the year 2004, Pete Rose admitted to betting on baseball but not against the Cincinnati Reds. After Pete Rose’s ban was confirmed, the Baseball Hall of fame officially selected to ban those on the eternally disqualified list. Previously those who were barred had been excluded by casual concurrence amongst voters.

The betting controversies regarding Pete Rose has forced the authorities to discard him from the Hall of Fame and whether he will be reinstated in again or not remains a matter of speculation and a controversial one.
