National League

National LeagueNational League (NL), founded on February 2, 1876, is the world’s oldest existing professional team sports league and one of the two leagues comprising Major League Baseball (MLB). The other league of MLB is the American League (AL). NL teams have won 43 and lost 62 of the 105 World Series matches played between these two leagues from the year 1903 to 2009. National League is also known as National League of Professional Baseball Clubs or Senior Circuit.

National League East

There are five current members in the National League East:

Atlanta Braves – The franchise was founded in 1871 as the Boston Red Stockings. Later, the team moved to Milwaukee in 1953, and then to Atlanta in 1966. The Atlanta Braves, based in Georgia, Atlanta, joined the National League East Division in 1994. The Ballpark of Atlanta Braves is Turner Field, which was opened in 1997 and has the capacity of 50,091 people. They have won three World Series titles, eleven East Division titles, five West Division titles, seventeen National League Pennants, and four National League Association Pennants.

Florida Marlins – The Florida Marlins, located in Miami, Florida, was established in 1993 as a National League expansion team. Sun Life Stadium is the ballpark of the Florida Marlins, which was opened in the year 1993. The titles won by Marlins are two World Series titles, two National League Pennants, and two Wild card berths.

New York Mets – The New York Mets, situated in the borough of Queens in New York City, was founded in 1962. They joined the National League East Division in the year 1969. Citi Field is the home baseball park of New York Mets, which was established in 2009 and has the capacity of 41,800 people. The Major League titles won by New York Mets are two World Series titles, four National League Pennants, five East Division titles, and two Wild card berths.

Philadelphia Phillies – The Philadelphia Phillies was established in 1883 and is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They joined the National League East Division in the year 1969. Citizens Bank Park, established in 2004, is the home ballpark of Philadelphia Phillies and has the capacity of 43,500. The MLB titles won by the franchise are two World Series titles, seven National League Pennants, and nine East Division titles.

Washington Nationals – The Major League Baseball team Washington Nationals, based in Washington D.C., was established in the year 1969. The home ballpark of this team is National Parks, which was established in 2008 and has the capacity of 41,888 people. They have won one East division title which was in the year 1981.

National League West

There are five current teams in the National League West:

Arizona Diamondbacks – The Arizona Diamondbacks was founded in the year 1998 and is located in Phoenix, Arizona. The Ballpark of Arizona Diamondbacks is Chase Field, which was established in 1998 and has the capacity of 49,003 people. The titles won by the Arizona Diamondbacks are one World Series title, one National League Pennants, and four National League West Division titles.

Colorado Rockies – The MLB team Colorado Rockies, situated in Denver, Colorado, was established in 1991, and they started play in 1993. Coors Field is the home baseball park of Colorado Rockies, which was opened in 1995 and has the capacity of 50,445 people. The Major League titles won by the franchise are one National League Pennants and three Wild card berths.

Los Angeles Dodgers – The Los Angeles Dodgers was founded in 1883 which is based in Los Angeles, California. The home baseball park of this team is Dodger Stadium, which was founded in 1962 and has the capacity of 56,000 people. They have won six World Series titles, twenty-one National League Pennants, eleven National League West Division titles, and two Wild cards berth.

San Diego Padres – The San Diego Padres was established in 1969, in San Diego, California. PETCO Park is the home ballpark of the team, which has the capacity of 42,445 people and was opened in 2004. The titles won by the team are five West Division titles and two National League Pennants.

San Francisco Giants – The San Francisco Giants one of the National League West Division teams was established in 1883, and is based in San Francisco, California since 1958. The Ballpark of San Francisco Giants is AT&T Park, which was opened in 2000 and has the capacity of 41,503 people. The titles won by San Francisco Giants are five World Series title, twenty National League Pennants, six West Division titles, and one Wild cards berth.

National League Central

They are six current members in this division:

Chicago Cubs – The team was founded in 1870 as the Chicago White Stockings and is situated in Chicago, Illinois. They joined the Central Division in the year 1994. Wrigley Field is the home ballpark, which was founded in 1916 and has the capacity of 41,118 people. They have won two World Series titles, sixteen National League Pennants, two East Division titles, three Central Division titles, and one Wild card berth.

Cincinnati Reds – The Cincinnati Reds, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, was established in 1882. They joined the National League Central Division in 1994. The home baseball park of the team is Great American Ballpark, which has the capacity of 42,059 people and was opened in 2003. The titles won by the franchise are five World Series titles, nine National League Pennants, seven West Division titles, and one Central Division title.

Houston Astros – The Houston Astros is one of the National League Central teams based in Houston, Texas, was founded in 1962 and joined the NL Central Division in 1994. The team home baseball park is Minute Maid Field, which was established in 2000 and has the capacity of 40,950 people. The Major League titles won by Houston Astros are one NL Pennants, two West Division titles, two Wild card berths, and four Central Division titles.

Milwaukee Brewers – The Major League Baseball team Milwaukee Brewers was founded in 1969 and is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin since 1970. The home stadium of the team is Miller Park, which was founded in 2001 and has the capacity of 42,200 people. The titles won by the team are one American League Pennants, one American League East Division title, and one Wild card berth.

Pittsburgh Pirates – The Pittsburgh Pirates is a Major League Baseball club founded in 1882 as Pittsburgh Allegheny and is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The team joined the National League in 1887 and Central Division in 1994. PNC Park is the stadium for the Pittsburgh Pirates, which has the capacity of 38,496 and was established in 2001. The MLB titles won by the Pittsburgh Pirates are five World Series titles, nine National League Pennants, and nine East Division titles.

St. Louis Cardinals – The St. Louis Cardinals is one of the NL Central Division teams based in Saint Louis, Missouri and was founded in 1882 as the St. Louis Brown Stockings. They joined the National League in 1892 and Central Division in 1994. Baseball Park of the team is Busch Stadium, which was founded in 2006 and has the capacity of 46,861 people. They have won ten World Series titles, seventeen NL Pennants, three East Division titles, eight Central Division titles, and one Wild card berth.
