This movie starts with Rachel Phelps, who is an earlier Las Vegas showgirl. She wants to move the team Cleveland Indians to Miami due to warmer climate for her deceased husband.
To do so, she decreases the crowd at Municipal Stadium below 800,000, which ultimately opens the road for Phelps to move the team to Miami and with immediate effect she replaces all the current players with new ones and instructs her new manager to hire worst team from a list that she had prepared earlier. This list includes the players, who have several problems with their fitness.
After practicing a lot the Cleveland Indians start their season very poorly and at this particular moment Phelps decides to remove the luxuries of players, such as replacing their aero plane with bus and subsequent to this, the team starts performing well. The team performs fantastically well in the later part of the season and beats Chicago White Sox and clinches a tie for division.
This forces the Cleveland Indians a game play-off with the division’s co-leaders New York Yankees. The film Major League ends with the match between the Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees, where the Cleveland Indians defeats the Yankees.
