Bet Tipsters - MLB winners and losers

As Major League Baseball heads into the all-star break, there is a good opportunity for baseball bet tipsters to take stock of where teams are. Although only half the season has gone there are already standout candidates for the post-season while some teams have only the potential of a first draft pick to look forwards to.

Amazingly two teams have already notched up 60 wins prior to the All Star break – something only three teams had managed to do in the forty years previously.

The Houston Astros notched up their 60th win of the 2017 season with a blowout 19-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays which no doubt ruined some baseball bet tipsters’ lines. Starting pitcher JA Happ took the loss – although of the six runs given up in his four innings only two were earned. The rot really started in the seventh, when Aaron Loup pitched to four batters without getting an out and ended up with three earned runs against his name while Joe Biagini gave up another four in the ninth.

They join the red-hot LA Dodgers, who enter the break on a six game win streak, capped off with Clayton Kershaw pitching a complete game for his 14th win of the year. Baseball bet tipsters will be looking to see if the Dodgers can continue their form in a Division which has three teams comfortably above the .500 line.

It was never meant to be like this for the San Francisco Giants. After ripping up the MLB in the first half of the 2016 season they have fallen apart somewhat, clocking up 98 losses since the 2016 All Star Game including 56 this season. While injuries haven’t helped including ace Madison Bumgarner the Giants will no doubt be worrying about a fragile rotation that is ranked 24 in the MLB for ERA and 25 for WHIP.

Somehow, the Giants are not even the worst team in the National League. That honour goes to the Philies, whose 29-58 record puts them on course for a potential 109 loss season. They enter the All Star break having beaten the Padres with a 6HR, 7-1 win – probably not the result forecast by many baseball bet tipsters.

In a season dogged by controversy over the “juicing” of baseballs allegedly causing more home runs than normal, both the Phillies and Giants will need to improve their offence if they are to be worth backing by baseball bet tipsters in the second half of the season.
