Judge for yourself, but this is what Duncan had to say about the incident:
“I just went hard into his glove. I was just going in hard. There was no malicious intent.”
Just for the record, Akinori Iwamura’s thigh was cut by Duncan’s spike.

Well of course he’s going to say that.
I’ll reserve my judgement until I can see some video.
The one thing is though you don’t want to be suspended to start the season which I’m sure will be coming in the next few days for everyone involved.
I’m sure Cervelli is smiling right now atleast, hehe
Ha! at ESPN, calling Gomes the PROTAGONIST, what a bunch of crock. Gomes should be suspended from the league, hes the one who started the brawl.
And that hit by pitch ejection was bumkis also, the ball first of all didn’t even hit him! Like Posada said, if he wanted to hit someone, the guy would’ve been hit.
I like the quote from Duncan. I guess Iwamura was lucky that his glove wasn’t by his head.
“I just went hard into his glove.”
Iwamura’s glove is on his left hand which is no where near Duncan’s foot in that picture.
Maybe he was misquoted, “I just went hard into his love.” Duncan had his eye on the wrong ball.
Curiously, I always believed that going hard into the glove required, like, the glove not to be behind the fielder’s opposite knee to where your spike is.
