We all know that Walter “Sweetness” Payton was the greatest athlete to ever wear the number 34. And Nolan Ryan was undoubtedly the greatest pitcher to wear those same digits.
Today, Phil Hughes informed us via his blog that, while not yet “official”, he has talked to reliever Sean Henn about giving him the number 34.
If the deal goes down, might Hughes be the next great #34?
